More than 100,000 acres have now burned in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains in the Sequoia National Forest as a result of the McNalley Fire, which is still only 50 percent contained. This image of the fire (red dots at right) was acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on August 3, 2002.
