This Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from June 8, 2002, shows several large Western wildfires (red dots). In Utah (center), there are the Big Wash (southern) and Sanford (northern) Fires. In Colorado (right), there is the Long Canyon Fire, and in New Mexico (bottom right), the Cherry Fire is visible.
