Dust from the Sahara Desert blowing out from the West Coast of Africa on April 27, 2003, had reached the Cape Verde Islands on April 28. This image of the dust plume was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Aqua satellite.
