What is the date these were taken? Clearly not 22 April 2013. Seems to me the post should have included this reference.

They weren’t “taken” at all–they’re composite images from multiple datasets. A variant of the Black Marble series.

I wish I had these when I was doing my astronomy merit badge for the scouts.
I was and still am captivated by the world beyond our atmosphere! The striking contrast between verdant regions and arid regions shows a marked contrast. Thanks for publishing these.
