Acquired February 9, 2010, this image shows ocean water discolored by the submarine eruption of Fukutoku-Okanoba. The water affected by ash appears electric blue, in contrast to the surrounding navy blue water.
Using data acquired September 13, 2002, this 3-D visualization shows an old lahar (avalanche of volcanic mud) extending from Anyuyskiy Volcano in far eastern Russia.
Though the explosive and most visible eruptive activity seems to have subsided, lava is still flowing above and below ground at the largest volcano in the Galapagos Islands.
