Acquired September 28, 2010, this natural-color image shows pale beige and rust-colored dust plumes over the Mediterranean Sea, around the Libyan city of Banghazi.
Two-toned dust plumes blew northward off the coast of Libya. While plumes in the west are beige, the plumes in the east are distinctly darker. The differences in color can be traced to the plumes’s varied origins.
