Sabancaya Keeps Puffing

On May 20, 2017, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite captured this image of volcanic plumes rising from Sabancaya volcano in southern Peru. The volcano has been erupting sporadically since 2014 and consistently since August 2016, according to the Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program.
