I find the white internal colour of the plane and of the parts of caches and equipment they leave behind extremely disorientating. Wouldnt it make sense to colour everything bright primary colours and not uniform either but polka dotted striped tartaned netted cross hatched chessboard and Croatian flag or car racing flag or for that matter hockey uniforms multicoloured striped banded. They also do this now on downhill skiers and Maritime and Arctic outpost houses. There is a reason for all this colour madness in the extreme glare of uniform unbroken snow or ice landscape any object of bright colour is more easily visible and a huge relief to the washed out fatigued eyes. The internal broken up structure has another function it permits scale and distance definition and determination. The planes bright red fuselage uses this colour alert scheme why doesnt the inside and all the objects of the teams as well?. You could miss any of these in poor visibility within touching distance. Presumably there is no war conflict or theft down there so why hide everything in plain view by white camouflage?

I was happy to see the maple leaf along the stars and stripes. Perhaps they should be uniform plain white too?

When I used to ice fish on Lake Superior in -2Oo wind 4O km/h say the first thing I would do is shovel a one m windbreak of snow on the windward of course. I dont see why they dont build four huge walls of ice and snow around the primary compass points mainly for windbreak of course but also for orientation. It is not as if they lacked snow and ice. They could even make one of pure ice another of snow only so even that way they would know which direction they faced.
Of course the four walls would have gaps at each end for egress and entry.
Why suffer if you dont have to chilblains frostbite frozen lungs fingers toes noses ears etc ? Especially the etc if you are younger.

BTW no one copied my simple invention they would rather freeze their arses off
than shovel snow for five minutes.
And I suppose they have bulldozers at Byrd station.
Roman legionnaires were decimated if they didnt build a camp of ramparts first.
