Spring Snow Blankets the Northeastern United States

Spring arrived in the United States weeks ago, but that did not stop a winter storm from dumping several inches of snow across much of the Upper Midwest and the Northeast in early April. On April 5, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Terra satellite captured this image of the snow dropped by the storm. A fast-moving Alberta clipper produced the snowfall.
