Ash Plume from Rabaul Volcano

Tavurvur Cone emitted an ash plume on August 6, 2013. Located within the Rabaul Caldera on New Britain Island, Tavurvur began emitting ash in January 2013 after a few years of relative quiet. This natural-color image was acquired by the Advanced Land Imager (ALI) on the Earth Observing-1 (EO-1) satellite.
