According to the morning report from the National Interagency Fire Center, the 3,100-acre fire was 44 percent contained. This image of the fire was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite on June 26 at 2:35 p.m. local time. The area in which the sensor detected actively burning fire is outlined in red. Smoke drifts northeast.

The large image provided above has a spatial resolution (level of detail) of 250 meters per pixel. The MODIS Rapid Response Team provides twice-daily images of the region in additional resolution and formats.
