Fall’s Changing Colors

Fall’s Changing Colors

As the clouds allowed during the past two months, the Sea-viewing Wide field-of-View Sensor (SeaWiFS) recorded the changing colors of eastern U.S. and Canadian vegetation. This series of true-color images from the fall of 2000 shows the deciduous forests of the region change from dark green to bright red and orange, and begin to drop their leaves.
